Basair Aviation College, one of Australia’s largest flight training organisation stationed across Queensland (QLD) and New South Wales (NSW), has welcomed Christopher Lea as its newest Group Safety Manager. With extensive experience in military and civil aviation, Mr. Lea brings a wealth of safety expertise to the Basair Group, enhancing the institution’s commitment to top-tier safety standards.
- Christopher Lea is an ATPL(H) licensed pilot, flight instructor, and senior aviation manager, with approximately 7,000 hours of aeronautical experience across military and civil aviation.
- He joins Basair with 30 years of active military service and 10 years of Reserve service, all in Army Aviation.
- Mr. Lea has worked with aerospace leaders Boeing and Airbus in Australia and the United States, as well as with the British and Australian Army Aviation.
- His focus at Basair will be on delivering safety leadership and supporting organizational excellence for both staff and students.
