Aviation Academy Austria Introduces First Challenger 3500 Simulator Outside the Americas
Vienna, Austria – Aviation Academy Austria (AAA) has achieved EASA qualification for an Auto Throttle System upgrade on its Bombardier Challenger 350 full-flight simulator. This conversion makes it the first Challenger 3500 simulator outside the Americas.
“We are thrilled to offer our customers the very first Challenger 3500 in Europe. This addition expands our simulator fleet and marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing state-of-the-art training solutions. The introduction of this programme underscores our dedication to meeting the growing demand for Challenger 3500 training in the region,” said Michael Holy, Managing Director of Aviation Academy Austria.
With the inclusion of the Challenger 350/3500 simulator, AAA now operates five Level-D full-flight simulators at its training centre near Vienna, with plans to add four more over the next three years.
The company offers dry simulator leasing, type ratings, instructor courses, checking events, and customised recurrent training programmes across the following simulator configurations:
- Bombardier Challenger 350
- Challenger 3500
- Challenger 650
- Cessna Citation CJ1+
- Citation XLS and XLS+
- ATR 42-320
- ATR 72-500

“What sets us apart is that AAA employs only type-experienced instructors. Our clients receive expert instruction tailored to the needs of their flight departments and focused on each individual pilot. ‘One size fits all’ is not our approach. Our goal is for even the most experienced customers to leave with the reassuring feeling that they have learned something new,” added Mr. Holy.
