Global – Aviation training technology providers RAero and ASTEKS have expanded their Airbus A320 Flight Management System Trainer with aircraft-performance, flight-guidance and continuous flight-path modelling.

  • The current A320 FMST is the first of five aircraft-family solutions identified by RAero, with trainers for the Airbus A330 and Boeing 737, 777 and 787 planned for future release.
  • The free-play trainer provides access to the complete simulated Multifunction Control and Display Unit environment, including flight-planning, performance and procedure functions.
  • Published capabilities include:
    • Comprehensive MCDU page functionality
    • Integrated powerplant and aircraft-performance modelling
    • Autopilot and autothrust integration
    • Functional EFIS displays, including the PFD and ND
    • Realistic lateral and vertical flight-path modelling
    • Continuous simulation through every phase of flight, from takeoff to landing
  • Users can capture and restore the simulated aircraft state at any stage of a flight, allowing instructors to create repeatable scenario starting points and review individual procedures without restarting an entire exercise.
  • RAero said the trainer is intended for self-study, classroom instruction, recurrent preparation, procedure practice and instructor demonstrations.
  • The platform supports captain and first-officer configurations and includes practice capability for the MCDU, primary and navigation displays and flight control unit.
  • The FMST forms part of RAeroLLC’s wider digital training platform, which combines computer-based learning, WebXR and VR flight-deck familiarisation, interactive instructor diagrams and cabin crew and maintenance content.
  • AFM previously reported that RAero launched its aviation training ecosystem in July 2026, with Tom Papazafiriou, Founder of ASTEKS, leading development of its FMS trainer portfolio across Airbus, Boeing and regional aircraft platforms.
