Aviation Leaders at Delhi Conference Outline Roadmap for India’s Pilot Training Sector Growth
India – Simaero India CEO Khushbeg Jattanna represented the global operator of full flight simulator training centers at the Aviation India Conference 2025, held at the JW Marriott, New Delhi on October 29–30, 2025. Mr. Jattanna joined a high-profile panel of aviation leaders to discuss “Building India’s Pilot Training Capability”, focusing on strategies to scale India’s aviation education infrastructure and workforce readiness.
- The panel, moderated by Mark Pilling, included Shweta Singh (DGCA), Capt. Ashim Mittra (IndiGo), Joel Davidson (AeroGuard Flight Training Center), YN “Bobby” Sharma (Chimes Aviation Academy), and Chris Ranganathan (CAE).
- It was emphasized that India will require more than 20,000 new pilots by 2030, calling for scalable, quality-driven training solutions that not only develop technical proficiency but also strengthen leadership, decision-making, and safety competencies.
- The panel highlighted the importance of collaboration between international and domestic Flight Training Organisations (FTOs) to accelerate infrastructure growth and foster enhancement in domestic training methodologies.
- The session also discussed the potential of “Make in India” initiatives to expand simulator production and maintenance capabilities, reducing dependence on imported training devices and enhancing India’s self-sufficiency in aviation technology.
- The panel also discussed the adoption of the Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) training framework as a cornerstone for competency-based training and enhanced flight safety standards in the country.
