Michigan, USA – UpskillAir, a Washington DC-based aviation microlearning platform provider, has onboarded Crosswinds Aviation — one of Michigan's largest flight schools — onto its platform, with instructor Amelia Dahline trained in creating MBytes, UpskillAir's short-form instructional video format, positioning the school to integrate on-demand microlearning directly into its training department.

  • Crosswinds Aviation was founded in 2011 by Matt and Andrea Dahline and operates multiple locations across Michigan, with training bases at Howell (OZW), Pontiac (PTK), Flint (FNT), Willow Run (YIP) and Lansing (KLAN).
  • Crosswinds Aviation is the contracted flight training provider for the Eastern Michigan University (EMU) Flight Technology four-year degree programme, offering training across multiple locations in Livingston, Genesee, and Oakland counties and providing students with access to Diamond DA20/DA40 and Cessna 172 aircraft.
  • Crosswinds also operates a High School Flight Programme in partnership with Howell High School and Flint Bishop Airport, with direct connections to Northwestern Michigan College, Western Michigan University, and Eastern Michigan University aviation programmes. More than 80 high school students who completed the Crosswinds high school training programme have continued on to EMU for their aviation degree.
  • The UpskillAir MByte platform enables Crosswinds to build a library of short, task-specific instructional videos for pilots, instructors, and technicians — replacing manual-based procedural lookups with on-demand video guidance accessible in real time. Amelia Dahline's certification as a content creator enables in-house production of Crosswinds-specific MByte content.
  • UpskillAir has been building out its US flight training footprint through platform partnerships and policy engagement, previously partnering with Four Forces and Avsoft and engaging the US Senate on FAA Part 141 training modernisation.
