Arizona, USA – Aviation Performance Solutions (APS), a Mesa-based specialist in Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), has appointed Norm 'DQ' Dequier as Vice President of Flight Operations, bringing over 30 years of military aviation and advanced flight instruction experience to the role.
- Dequier joins APS from a distinguished military career that includes service as an instructor pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force and selection as a solo pilot with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds aerobatic demonstration team — one of the most demanding selection standards in military aviation.
- In his new role, Dequier will oversee all aspects of APS flight operations, including instructor standardisation, training quality, and operational performance across APS's fleet and global training programmes.
- The appointment directly supports APS's core mission of Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) and Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I) mitigation — aviation's leading cause of fatal accidents — by placing an operationally credentialed leader at the head of its flight operations function.
- As part of the leadership transition, Randall 'Random' Brooks, who previously served as EVP of Flight Operations, will continue contributing to APS through flying, mentorship, and special projects, providing continuity through the handover period.
- Dequier held senior leadership roles throughout his military career responsible for flight standards, instructor development, and operational execution across multiple nations — experience that directly aligns with APS's emphasis on disciplined, systemised training delivery.
Statements
- "Norm brings a rare combination of instructional depth, operational leadership, and credibility earned at the highest levels of aviation. He understands that effective training is not just about meeting standards, but more importantly, it's about preparing pilots to respond correctly when it matters most. That alignment with our mission is exactly what we need as we continue to grow and serve operators worldwide," said Paul 'BJ' Ransbury, CEO of Aviation Performance Solutions.
- "After four extraordinary years leading Flight Operations, I am honored to step into the role of VP of Operations. I hold tremendous respect for the APS mission and the life-saving impact of our work. It is a privilege to serve alongside such a dedicated and highly skilled team. Together, we will continue to elevate APS and strengthen our position as the global leader in UPRT," said Norm 'DQ' Dequier, Vice President of Flight Operations at Aviation Performance Solutions.
