Arizona, USA – Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) provider Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) has launched a dedicated Dassault Family UPRT program for business aviation pilots, extending foundational upset training into aircraft-family-relevant scenarios covering handling, automation, energy management and high-altitude operations. The launch broadens APS's aircraft-family-specific business aviation training portfolio following Citation and Gulfstream program introductions earlier in 2026.

  • Programs currently start at US$4,795.
  • APS said the Dassault program builds on foundational UPRT by applying upset prevention and recovery competencies to aircraft-family handling characteristics, jet energy management, automation, high-altitude operation and operational scenarios.
  • Training can be configured as a simulator-only program or as an integrated pathway incorporating on-aircraft training. APS positions the aircraft-family phase as a progression from transferable upset recognition and recovery skills toward their application in the pilot's operating environment.
  • The Dassault launch follows APS's Citation Jet UPRT program introduced in June 2026. That program combines virtual reality, advanced simulation and on-aircraft training and similarly launched with a US$4,795 simulator option.
  • AFM previously reported that APS launched a Gulfstream-specific UPRT program on August 5, 2026, also starting at US$4,795 and covering areas including high-altitude manual handling, wake turbulence and approach and go-around loss-of-control scenarios. AFM then reported on August 10 that APS introduced a separate SIAI-Marchetti S211 Jet Transition Program for pilots moving toward airline and business jet operations.
  • APS's current training fleet comprises nine aircraft: three SIAI-Marchetti S211 swept-wing jet trainers and six Extra 300L aircraft. Its Mesa facility also contains a flight simulation training device and a dedicated virtual-reality training suite.

Statements

  • “LOC-I can develop quickly, and pilots have to be able to access the right skills under pressure,” said Paul ‘BJ’ Ransbury, CEO of Aviation Performance Solutions. “Dassault Family UPRT gives pilots the opportunity to take the skills they develop in foundational UPRT and sharpen their application in a highly relevant environment. We want that connection to be well established before a pilot ever needs it.”
