Aviation Performance Solutions Launches TBM-Specific UPRT Program in October 2026

November 3, 2026

Arizona, USA – US-based Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) provider Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) has introduced a dedicated TBM Family UPRT Program for pilots of Daher TBM aircraft. Announced on October 29, 2026, alongside the TBM Owners and Pilots Association (TBMOPA) Annual Convention, the program extends APS's aircraft-specific training portfolio to high-performance single-engine turboprop operations.

  • APS introduced the program during the October 29–30, 2026 TBMOPA convention, providing attending owners and pilots with demonstrations of its TBM-specific training technology and information about available training options.
  • The program focuses on recognising, preventing and recovering from unexpected aircraft upsets, incorporating operating scenarios and aircraft performance considerations relevant to the TBM family.
  • APS has positioned the training as a complement to conventional initial and recurrent pilot training, targeting situations involving unexpected aircraft attitudes, flight path deviations, startle responses and time-critical decision-making.
  • TBMOPA members are being offered preferred training opportunities, including program customisation and potential discounts.
  • AFM previously reported that APS introduced a dedicated Pilatus Family UPRT Program in September 2026 for PC-12 and PC-24 pilots, incorporating aircraft-specific operating scenarios and integrated training methods. The TBM launch extends this approach to another business aviation aircraft family.
  • The expansion provides TBM owners, operators and training organisations with an additional option for aircraft-relevant upset recovery instruction.
  • The training combines TBM-specific operating scenarios with advanced simulation, immersive virtual reality and specialised in-aircraft instruction. At the convention, APS demonstrated VR-based upset scenarios and pilot-response exercises to illustrate how unexpected flight conditions can develop and be managed.

Statements

  • “This program builds on their existing proficiency with the specialized skills needed to recognize, prevent, and recover from unexpected upsets. It's about helping pilots stay ready when it matters most,” said Paul “BJ” Ransbury, CEO of Aviation Performance Solutions.
