Belgian Flight School Skywings Flight Training Appoints Pieter Brantegem as Chief Executive Officer
Belgium – based flight training organisation Skywings Flight Training has appointed Pieter Brantegem as its new Chief Executive Officer as of November 2024. The company, which is headquartered and provides high-quality airline pilot training in a modern facility at Antwerp Airport, is positioning itself for further growth under the new leadership.
Earlier in the year Skywings Flight Training recapped a dynamic 2024 filled with key accomplishments and outlined its ambitious plans for 2025. From program expansions to new partnerships and investments, the organization demonstrated its continued commitment to high-quality pilot training.
- 2024 Highlights:
- Signed an agreement with Brussels Airlines for its inaugural MPL cadet program, with 23 cadets starting their training.
- Welcomed 32 students across three intakes for the integrated ATPL program.
- Achieved a record-breaking milestone: 11 students completed their first solo flights within 8 days at the fair-weather base in Mutxamel, Spain.
- Certified a new Diamond DA40/42 simulator and upgraded its Airbus A320 simulator hardware.
- Acquired advanced training equipment, including a Robin R2160 aircraft for UPRT and four new Diamond DA40 NG aircraft.
- Maintained an average transition time of under three months for graduates to secure their first airline jobs.
- Hosted 480 Austro Control EASA exams as an official exam center.
- Plans for 2025:
- Expand campus facilities by adding new classrooms, nearly doubling the campus size.
- Enroll 60 new students across integrated ATPL and MPL programs.
- Increase staff by adding more instructors and office personnel.
- Continue to enhance training infrastructure and deliver industry-leading pilot training.
