Boeing Delivers 51 Aircraft in August, Reaching 418 in 2026

Global – US aircraft manufacturer Boeing delivered 51 aircraft from its commercial-airplane programs during August 2026, taking year-to-date deliveries to 418, its highest total through the first eight months of a year since 2018.

• The August deliveries were comprised of:
  • 41 Boeing 737 MAXs,
  • 1 737-800A,
  • 4 787 Dreamliners,
  • 3 767s and
  • 2 777 Freighters.
• Boeing delivered 418 aircraft between January and August 2026, up from 385 during the equivalent period of 2025. The eight-month total comprised 324 737-family aircraft, including 320 737 MAXs, 54 787s, 22 767s and 18 777-family aircraft.
• The 737 MAX remained the principal delivery platform in August. Southwest Airlines received nine aircraft and United Airlines eight, while VietJet Air received four and Akasa Air three. AerCap received five MAX aircraft alongside one 787-9.
• Widebody handovers slowed during August, with four 787s delivered compared with 10 in July and 13 in June. Boeing had delivered 54 Dreamliners during 2026 through the end of August.
• Boeing recorded 15 gross orders during August, comprising two 737 MAXs and 13 787s, all for unidentified customers. The manufacturer recorded no cancellations during the month and ended August with a commercial backlog of 6,156 aircraft.
• AFM previously reported that Boeing delivered 314 commercial aircraft during the first half of 2026, including 243 737-family aircraft and 40 787s. The July-August period therefore added 104 aircraft to the annual total, including 81 737-family and 14 787 deliveries.
• In September 2026, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said the 737 program was operating toward a rate of 47 aircraft per month but had not yet stabilised at that level, while 787 production had stabilised at eight aircraft per month with Boeing working toward 10 per month later in 2026.
