Boeing Initiative Empowers Women in India’s Aviation Sector – Offers Type Rating

India – Boeing India celebrated the achievements of a trainee from the Boeing Sukanya Program during the IATA AGM 2025, highlighting the company’s ongoing commitment to advancing gender diversity in India’s aviation sector.
- The Boeing Sukanya Program was launched at the request of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to increase female participation in aviation.
- The initiative provides STEM Labs, pilot training scholarships, and institutional partnerships to support young women aspiring to aviation careers.
- The program is actively fostering opportunities for women to transition from classrooms to cockpits across India.
- “Getting ready to start the type rating training phase of the Sukanya program. Excited for the first pilots to come through that part of the program!” shared Christine Bohl, Commercial Training Market Director at Boeing.
