Brazil – EJ Escola de Aeronáutica, a São Paulo-based flight training organisation, hosted Goar Duarte, Training Coordinator for the Azul Linhas Aéreas Airbus A330 fleet, for a technical lecture on Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) — delivering airline-grade expertise directly into the flight school training environment for the next generation of Brazilian pilots.

The lecture addressed fundamental UPRT concepts including abnormal attitude recognition and recovery techniques, human factors, situational awareness, and aeronautical decision-making under pressure — all delivered through a practical, experience-based framework drawn from commercial airline operations.
Goar Duarte brings over two decades of accumulated operational and instructional experience to the subject: 23 years at VARIG, one of Brazil's former flag carriers, and 12 years at Embraer, where he consolidated experience spanning both commercial aviation and pilot training. He currently serves as A330 fleet Training Coordinator at Azul Linhas Aéreas, responsible for standardisation, training, and pilot development across highly complex widebody operations.
Duarte holds specific UPRT qualification from international reference frameworks including the FAA and United Airlines, and serves as a focal point for UPRT within his organisation — bringing both regulatory-standard and airline-specific best practice to the content delivered.
The practical, real-world framing of the lecture provided EJ students with direct exposure to the operational demands of airline flying — specifically the technical preparation and situational management skills required from day one in a commercial aviation environment.
