Colorado, USA – Bye Aerospace, Colorado-based developer of the eFlyer family of all-electric pilot training aircraft, has announced that Serial Number One (SN001) of the eFlyer 2 — the company's first prototype — is on wheels in the Denver area, with the company indicating a first-flight milestone is imminent.
- SN001 represents the first physical completion of the eFlyer 2 prototype, marking a transition from construction and component integration to pre-flight configuration.
- The eFlyer 2 is designed as a fully electric, FAA-certifiable two-seat training aircraft, with Bye Aerospace citing the potential to reduce training aircraft operating costs by up to 80% in the US, with further savings anticipated in international markets where fuel costs are higher.
- The eFlyer 2 prototype build has progressed through a series of industrial milestones, including the selection of Composite Approach for fuselage manufacturing in December 2025 and the appointment of magniX to supply its Samson battery system for the prototype in November 2025, with first flight originally targeted for early 2026.
- Bye Aerospace holds an order backlog of over 410 eFlyers from flight schools and training operators including KLM Flight Academy, Skyborne, and Reykjavik Flight Academy, among others.
