USA – Bye Aerospace CEO and President Rod Zastrow has joined the National Flight Training Alliance (NFTA) as a Director, representing aircraft OEMs and innovative training aircraft technologies on the alliance's board, following a two-day hosted session at Republic Airways' training facility in Indianapolis.
- Zastrow's appointment to the NFTA board positions Bye Aerospace within the alliance's advocacy structure, adding an OEM voice focused on electric training aircraft and training cost reduction to an organisation that works across pilot training institutions, airlines, and regulators.
- The two-day NFTA meeting was hosted by Republic Airways at its modern training facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, bringing together flight training executives including NFTA President and CEO Lee Collins and NFTA's Chuck Miller.
- Bye Aerospace is currently preparing for the first flight of its eFlyer 2 electric training aircraft — Serial Number One (SN001) — which reached pre-flight configuration at the company's Denver-area facility, with Zastrow referencing the milestone in the post with the note "in the air soon."
- Bye Aerospace has framed the eFlyer 2's development around reducing training costs by up to 80% compared to conventional fuel-powered training aircraft, with the company describing its mission as the democratisation of pilot training access.
