Sweden & Türkiye – Istanbul-based cabin crew training device manufacturer SkyArt has completed the Critical Design Review (CDR) for Scandinavian Airlines’ Embraer E2 Door and Overwing Exit Trainer. SkyArt has now confirmed January 27, 2027 as the delivery date, providing SAS with type-specific cabin crew training infrastructure ahead of its first E195-E2 aircraft deliveries later in 2027.

  • The device will be the first Embraer E2 Door Trainer delivered to SAS and, according to SkyArt, the first of its type for a customer in Scandinavia. The CDR was completed at SkyArt’s Istanbul facility.
  • Completion of the CDR advances the project from its design-definition phase toward manufacturing, testing and delivery.
  • SAS has 45 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft on firm order and purchase rights for another 10. Embraer states that deliveries are scheduled to begin in late 2027 and continue over approximately four years.
  • AFM previously reported that SAS selected SkyArt in September 2026 to design and manufacture the Embraer E195-E2 Door and Overwing Exit Trainer. The latest update confirms completion of the CDR and provides the first specific delivery date for the device.
