CAE Adds Second A320 FFS in Mumbai as It Highlights Multi-Crew Pilot Licence Advantages

India – Global pilot training provider CAE is bringing a second Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator into operation at its CAE Simulation Training Private Limited (CSTPL) centre in Mumbai while increasing its focus on the potential introduction of Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) training in India. Simon Azar, Vice President Civil Aviation, Asia Pacific at CAE, shared the developments with Vishal Kashyap, Managing Editor of Aviation World, during an interview at the Asia Pacific Aviation Training Summit (APATS) in Bangkok.

  • The 44,000-square-foot Mumbai centre has capacity for six Full Flight Simulators and opened in April 2026 with one A320 FFS.
  • When the Mumbai facility opened, CSTPL reported 16 Full Flight Simulators across its network in Greater Noida, Gurugram, Bengaluru and Mumbai, with plans to increase the network to 23 devices.
  • CAE said discussions around MPL are taking place with Indian airlines, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and other stakeholders.
