Malaysia – Canadian aviation training provider CAE and Malaysia-based low-cost airline group AirAsia have renewed their Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) agreement for another five years, continuing A320-focused cadet training while identifying potential future cooperation on an AirAsia A220 MPL program. The renewal maintains an established airline-linked pilot pipeline as AirAsia prepares to introduce a new aircraft family from 2028.

At March 31, 2026, these operations reported 203 operational aircraft and 240 aircraft in total. The group currently operates Airbus A320-family and A330 aircraft and is preparing for A220 and A321XLR deliveries beginning in 2028.
