CAE and easyJet Launch 100th Generation easyJet MPL Course with 22 Cadets

United Kingdom – Global aviation training provider CAE and European airline easyJet have launched the 100th course of the Generation easyJet Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) training program, with 22 cadets beginning the airline-linked pathway.

• More than 1,300 cadets have commenced training through the CAE-easyJet MPL partnership since its launch in 2010.
• Three members of the latest cohort are existing easyJet employees. Two, aged 24 and 53, are transitioning from cabin crew roles to pilot training, while a third employee is making the move to the flight deck at age 50. The cohort also includes entrants from backgrounds in organic chemistry, motorsport engineering, and financial regulation.
• easyJet said a further 500 pilots are expected to join the airline through the CAE training pathway during the next five years. Graduates completing the program progress into pilot roles operating the airline's Airbus A320-family fleet.
• The program is designed for candidates entering with no previous flying experience and takes approximately two years to complete. Ground training is delivered at CAE aviation academy locations in Gatwick, Milan, Malaga or Madrid, with flight training conducted at CAE Phoenix in the United States.
• easyJet is also using the program as part of its pilot recruitment and diversity activity. The airline stated that women account for approximately 6% of pilots globally and that it has more than tripled the number of female pilots within its own workforce over the past decade. It also operates a Pilot School Visits initiative through which easyJet pilots engage with schools in the UK about aviation careers.
• AFM previously reported in April 2026 that CAE and easyJet had extended the Generation easyJet MPL partnership for another five years. CAE has supported easyJet pilot training since 1995 and has served as the airline's MPL training partner since 2010. The broader CAE-easyJet relationship had delivered more than 1,500 pilots through MPL, Integrated ATPL and type-rating pathways at the time of the extension.
• The Generation easyJet pathway is competency-based and incorporates ATPL theoretical knowledge, core single- and multi-engine flight training and Airbus A320-specific synthetic training. AFM previously reported that the program uses CAE A320 600XR Flight Training Devices and 7000XF Full Flight Simulators during its aircraft-specific phases, progressing to an MPL and A320 type rating before easyJet base and line training.
