Germany – CAE has been awarded a contract by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to upgrade the visual systems of the NH90 NTH Sea Lion full-mission simulator suites for the German Navy with CAE Prodigy, CAE's next-generation Image Generator (IG).

  • The contract covers the integration of CAE Prodigy across the two full-mission simulator suites supporting the German Navy's NH90 NTH Sea Lion naval helicopter training program, enhancing visual fidelity for multi-role crew training including hoisting, door gunnery, and cargo operations.
  • CAE Prodigy delivers high-resolution visual environments extending beyond the cockpit, incorporating synchronized exterior views and Mixed Reality (MR) environments tailored to rear-crew roles, enabling immersive simulation for complex multi-crewmember mission scenarios.
  • The system is designed to support seamless transitions between live and synthetic training environments, building aircrew familiarity across real-world and simulated settings to strengthen mission readiness.
  • The NH90 contract builds on recent CAE Prodigy deployments for European defense forces, including integration on the CH-53GS helicopter simulator for Germany and Eurofighter training devices for Austria, demonstrating the platform's scalability across diverse high-performance military training environments.

Statements

  • "By integrating CAE Prodigy into the NH90 NTH Sea Lion full-mission simulator training environment, we bridged the gap between simulated and real-world training, which supports more effective mission rehearsal, sharper decision-making, and improved operational readiness for today's demanding missions. We are honoured to support the Bundeswehr through our close cooperation in delivering advanced mission and operational support," said Pascal Grenier, President at CAE Defense & Security.
