CAE Confirms First of Three New Aer Lingus Full-Flight Simulators Delivered in Dublin

Ireland – Canadian training and simulation provider CAE has confirmed delivery of a new Airbus A320 CEO/NEO Full-Flight Simulator to Aer Lingus at Simtech Aviation’s Dublin training center, identifying the device as the first of three new CAE simulators being acquired by the airline. The wider program will add Airbus A330 and A321 training capability, increasing Aer Lingus’ locally based simulator capacity as its Airbus fleet develops.

• Three new CAE Full-Flight Simulators form part of the Aer Lingus investment: the delivered Airbus A320 CEO/NEO device, an Airbus A330 CEO/NEO simulator and a planned Airbus A321XLR simulator.
• The A320 CEO/NEO simulator is owned by Aer Lingus, manufactured by CAE and installed at Simtech Aviation’s training center near Dublin Airport. Simtech provides the training facility and simulator infrastructure and will also provide ongoing maintenance and technical support.
• Ireland’s Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien officially opened the A320 simulator on August 14, 2026. Representatives from Aer Lingus, CAE, Simtech Aviation, the Irish Aviation Authority and AerCap attended the opening.
• Simtech states that the A330 CEO/NEO device will follow the A320 simulator, while the A321XLR Full-Flight Simulator is planned for 2027.
• The three-device program will provide dedicated simulator coverage across the airline’s principal Airbus narrowbody and widebody families, including the A321XLR as that type expands within its long-haul operation.
• The training investment is occurring alongside Aer Lingus’ fleet modernization. IAG reported a 63-aircraft Aer Lingus fleet at the end of 2025 and confirmed that another Airbus A321XLR was delivered to the airline during the first quarter of 2026.
