Canada – CAE has announced a series of investments totalling more than CAD 385,000 in Indigenous aviation training and workforce development initiatives in Canada, supporting new pilot licensing pathways and a commercial helicopter operations certificate program for Indigenous communities.
- CAE has invested CAD 185,400 with Datsa Dynamics LP, a majority Indigenous-owned aerospace company, to expand Transport Canada-approved Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) training, with the funding enabling two Indigenous students to pursue pilot licences.
- A further CAD 200,000 has been contributed alongside the First Nations Technical Institute (FNTI) to launch a new Certificate in Commercial Helicopter Operations, accredited by the Indigenous Advanced Education & Skills Council (IAESC), aimed at strengthening pilot pathways and improving air access for remote Indigenous communities.
- Both initiatives form part of CAE's Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) commitments under Canada's RPAS programme as a member of Team SkyGuardian.
