CAE Secures $270M Training System Contract for Australia’s Future Air Mission Program
Australia – CAE has been awarded a major contract by the Commonwealth of Australia to deliver the Future Air Mission Training System (F-AMTS) under Project AIR5428 Phase 3, supporting the Royal Australian Air Force’s next-generation mission aircrew training. The $270M CAD agreement marks a transformative step in the evolution of Australian defence training capabilities.
- Contract value exceeds $270M CAD with an initial 10-year performance period
- CAE will design and deliver a fully integrated air mission training system at RAAF Base East Sale, Victoria
- The F-AMTS will train a wide range of RAAF roles including:
- Air Battle Managers
- Airborne Electronics Analysts
- Weapon Systems Officers
- Maritime Patrol and Response Officers
- Air Mobility Officers
- Air Traffic Controllers
- Operations Officers
- Electronic Warfare Officers
- The training system includes:
- Advanced learning environment and courseware
- Synthetic ground and airborne training elements to replicate real-world complexity
- Instructor development programs to elevate post-graduate training effectiveness
- Delivered in partnership with Nova Systems, Adacel, DXC Technology, Milskil, MMCLD, Airflite, and Seeing Machines
- Expected to generate over 40 new skilled roles within CAE in Victoria
- First student graduates are expected in 2028, supporting the RAAF’s long-term capability and resilience objectives
