CAE Secures $270M Training System Contract for Australia’s Future Air Mission Program

Australia – CAE has been awarded a major contract by the Commonwealth of Australia to deliver the Future Air Mission Training System (F-AMTS) under Project AIR5428 Phase 3, supporting the Royal Australian Air Force’s next-generation mission aircrew training. The $270M CAD agreement marks a transformative step in the evolution of Australian defence training capabilities.

  • Contract value exceeds $270M CAD with an initial 10-year performance period
  • CAE will design and deliver a fully integrated air mission training system at RAAF Base East Sale, Victoria
  • The F-AMTS will train a wide range of RAAF roles including:
    • Air Battle Managers
    • Airborne Electronics Analysts
    • Weapon Systems Officers
    • Maritime Patrol and Response Officers
    • Air Mobility Officers
    • Air Traffic Controllers
    • Operations Officers
    • Electronic Warfare Officers
  • The training system includes:
    • Advanced learning environment and courseware
    • Synthetic ground and airborne training elements to replicate real-world complexity
    • Instructor development programs to elevate post-graduate training effectiveness
  • Delivered in partnership with Nova Systems, Adacel, DXC Technology, Milskil, MMCLD, Airflite, and Seeing Machines
  • Expected to generate over 40 new skilled roles within CAE in Victoria
  • First student graduates are expected in 2028, supporting the RAAF’s long-term capability and resilience objectives
