Canadian Flight School Select Aviation College Brings Together Industry and Students at Annual Networking Festival – Select Fest 2025

Canada – Select Aviation College held its third edition of Sélect Fest on September 12, on the eve of the Aéro Gatineau‑Ottawa Air Show, bringing together over 200 student pilots, partners, and aviation enthusiasts for its largest annual gathering.

  • The event offered student pilots opportunities to network with peers and airline representatives, learn from seasoned industry professionals, and celebrate their shared passion for aviation.

  • Featured guests and activities included:
      • Pierre Gavillet from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB)
      • Aerobatic air show performers (Snowbirds, Skyhawks, and others)
      • Simon Hanington from Porter Airlines presenting the Porter Star Award to Walid Sebaihia with a $1,000 scholarship
      • Robert Nag from CAE unveiling a mural donated to the College to mark the first year of its La Sélection program
      • 3R (a non‑profit organization) contributing lunch
      • Alexis Mongeau and team launching Air Transat’s Star Program, to be awarded at the school’s end‑of‑year gala
      • Eren Yarar and the safety committee showcasing innovations in AI applied to flight operations
      • VIP Pilot offering two significant prizes, including high‑end headphones

  • For the second year in a row, the school’s insurers awarded Collège Select Aviation an honorable mention for excellence in aviation safety.

  • Additional participation from partners such as Air Creebec, Guard Me, Desjardins, COPA, plus alumni who joined in the celebration.
