CPaT Adds Route and Aerodrome Competence Course to General Subjects Portfolio

Texas, USA – Aviation distance-learning provider CPaT Global has expanded its General Subjects portfolio with a new Route and Aerodrome Competence course covering the operational knowledge pilots require when preparing for and operating along assigned routes and at associated aerodromes.

• The computer-based course covers route planning, terrain and obstacle considerations, arrival and departure procedures, aerodrome operating minima, special and complex aerodromes, current charts and NOTAMs, communication and system failures, and operational threats affecting route and aerodrome competence.
• CPaT positioned the new course in its launch announcement as supporting both FAA and EASA training requirements. Its current product page additionally identifies FAA, ICAO and DGCA requirements and IOSA standards within the course’s regulatory-compliance framework.
• Delivery is through CPaT’s Learning Management System and mobile application, with access supported across PC, Mac, Windows, iOS and Android devices. Offline use is available through the mobile platform, with training records synchronised after connectivity is restored.
• The course is part of CPaT’s Aviation Specialty Courses, which form the General Subjects element of its wider pilot-training suite. CPaT’s February 2026 portfolio information identified more than 40 General Subjects courses alongside more than 100 Aircraft Systems courses covering 27 aircraft fleet types.
• General Subjects sit alongside CPaT’s Aircraft Systems, Interactive Aircraft Diagrams and Aircraft Procedures training products, allowing airlines and training organisations to combine aircraft-specific technical knowledge with regulatory, operational and safety subjects.
