Canada – Canadian flight simulation technology developer Canada Training Solutions Inc. (CTS Aero) has launched the ImMRsiv Portal, bringing cognitive training, digital learning and AI-supported performance analysis into a connected pilot training platform. The launch extends the company's ImMRsiv mixed reality simulation ecosystem, providing flight training organisations with tools to support student preparation, independent practice and instructor-led performance assessment.
- The portal combines three interconnected components—Focus, Shape and Insight—covering different stages of pilot development and allowing training organisations to integrate cognitive preparation, learning activities and performance evaluation within a single ecosystem.
- ImMRsiv Focus provides cognitive training exercises designed to develop situational awareness, attention, decision-making and mental resilience. Developed in collaboration with NeuroTracker, the component is intended to help pilots assess and strengthen cognitive performance as part of their regular training activities.
- ImMRsiv Shape provides e-learning modules, instructor guidance materials and independent practice sessions. The platform is designed to standardise lesson preparation while allowing students to review procedures and training content before conducting simulator or aircraft training.
- ImMRsiv Insight introduces AI-supported performance analysis and debriefing tools, allowing instructors to examine student performance, identify areas requiring additional training and use collected data to inform subsequent lessons.
- The wider ImMRsiv simulator platform supports Cessna 172, Cessna 208 Caravan and Diamond DA40 aircraft representations. Its training ecosystem incorporates eye-tracking and cognitive performance monitoring within Focus, separate ground-based and simulator-based learning phases within Shape, and automated manoeuvre recognition and assessment capabilities within Insight. The latter is being developed in collaboration with Queen's University's Ingenuity Labs, with support from the National Research Council of Canada and Mitacs.
- AFM previously reported that CTS Aero highlighted early PPL training results from its ImMRsiv C172 at Prairie Aviation Training Centre in September 2026. Two students completed their Private Pilot Licence training with 52 and 48 loggable flight hours respectively after incorporating the mixed reality simulator into their training. The device is also being evaluated within Canada's developing regulatory framework for mixed reality flight training.
