Cubcrafters Aircraft Chosen for Embry Riddle’s Golden Eagles Precision Flight Team
USA – CubCrafters, the leading designer and manufacturer of light STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) utility aircraft, proudly announces that the company’s certified NX Cub has been chosen by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as the new aircraft for their Golden Eagles Flight Team going forward. This collaboration marks a significant investment in the future of precision flight training and competition.
The Golden Eagles Precision Flight Team, based at Embry-Riddle’s Prescott, Arizona campus, is one of the nation’s most elite collegiate aviation teams, regularly securing top honors at national competitions. The addition of these state-of-the-art NX Cub aircraft will provide team members with access to cutting-edge aircraft and avionics that enhance their flight training experience and
competitive edge.

Certified under the FAA’s Part 23 rules in 2019, the NX Cub is known for its innovative design featuring powerful STOL capabilities, an advanced avionics suite, and a rugged, lightweight airframe. Equipped with a tandem seat cockpit for maximum visibility and a Lycoming 215 horsepower fuel injected engine for the best power in its class, the aircraft is ideal for precision flight training environment in which the Golden Eagles regularly operate.
Embry-Riddle’s Golden Eagles have a long history of excellence, consistently dominating at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association’s SAFECON competition. By incorporating the NX Cub into their training fleet, the team aims to expand their operational capabilities and further cement their reputation as the premier collegiate aviation team in the country.
