Denmark – Center Air Pilot Academy, an EASA-certified flight training provider headquartered in Roskilde, Denmark, has launched a "Best Financial Practice" initiative calling on flight schools, airlines, and industry stakeholders to adopt higher standards of transparency and responsibility in the financial relationship between pilot training institutions and their students.

  • The initiative identifies five pillars that Center Air Pilot Academy believes must underpin the financial conduct of flight training organisations: clear and honest pricing, realistic training timelines, responsible student intake management, high training quality to avoid costly delays or retraining, and strong industry connections that support graduate employability.
  • The academy frames the initiative as a systemic industry conversation rather than a standalone school policy, explicitly inviting partners from across the aviation industry — including other flight schools, airlines, and student stakeholders — to participate in raising the standard.
  • The core argument is that pilot training requires a substantial financial investment from students and their families, and that schools and airlines therefore carry a responsibility to treat that investment with corresponding transparency and commitment — a position that implicitly challenges intake practices, opaque pricing, and unrealistic timeline promises observed in parts of the sector.
  • The responsible student intake principle carries particular operational weight: over-intake relative to available training capacity is a recognised driver of extended training timelines, increased costs, and student attrition across the pilot training industry.
