Digital Pilot Training Platform Expands PPL and LAPL Theoretical Training Reach Across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland

Germany, Austria & Switzerland – Heinz Koop, founder and Managing Director of Aviation Hero GmbH, is expanding the Dortmund, Germany-based digital pilot education platform's approach across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, providing flexible online theoretical training, live instruction, and community-based learning for aspiring Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL) candidates.

• Aviation Hero is an officially recognised Declared Training Organisation (DTO) offering theoretical training for PPL and LAPL candidates, combining video-based learning, live teaching, structured educational materials, and personalised support.
• The platform has supported more than 2,000 aspiring pilots to date; the Aviation Hero YouTube channel has grown to more than 14,000 subscribers.
• Students complete theoretical education online while arranging practical flight training at locations that suit their individual circumstances.
• Aviation Hero began with a focus on preparation for the restricted radio communication certificate (BZF) before expanding into PPL and LAPL theoretical training.
• The company was founded in 2020 by Heinz Koop, then a 22-year-old industrial engineering student at Ruhr University, using his own resources and without outside investors.
• Aviation Hero organised its first community fly-in in Rotenburg in 2025, bringing together more than 60 participants and more than 25 aircraft.
