Dubai's flydubai Seeks Experienced FSTD Compliance Manager in 2026

March 23, 2026

United Arab Emirates – flydubai, a Dubai-based low-cost carrier operating an all-Boeing 737 fleet and an approved training organisation (ATO), is recruiting a Manager of Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) Compliance — a senior specialist role responsible for maintaining the airline's full flight simulators in regulatory compliance with both the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and EASA standards.

  • The Manager of FSTD Compliance will serve as the focal point for all FSTD operational matters at flydubai, coordinating with the GCAA, EASA, and internal stakeholders to ensure all simulator qualifications are maintained at approved levels and devices remain continuously available for use by the airline and the ATO.
  • Key responsibilities include overseeing preventative maintenance schedules, Qualification Test Guide (QTG) execution, safety checks, and flyouts; managing defect rectification and simulator modifications to regulatory, manufacturer, and flydubai standards; and planning spare parts requirements to support operational continuity.
  • The role carries regulatory liaison responsibility with both GCAA and EASA, requiring demonstrated experience collaborating with civil aviation authorities to obtain and maintain FSTD qualifications — a technically and administratively complex function in a dual-regulator operating environment.
  • The manager will also oversee any outsourced FSTD maintenance providers, including audit planning and management, and will contribute to the development of flydubai's FSTD organisation in line with ATO growth — a remit that includes forecasting future FSTD technical requirements, obsolescence planning, and upgrade management.
  • The role requires embedding Safety Management System (SMS) principles across all simulator maintenance and operational activities, as well as defining and monitoring FSTD compliance indicators and reliability metrics against approved performance criteria.
  • The position requires a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of three years' experience in a similar FSTD compliance role within a GCAA or EASA regulatory environment, working knowledge of CS-FSTD(A) certification specifications and GCAA/EASA Part ORA requirements, and 8–10 years of total professional experience.
