United Kingdom – Skyborne Airline Academy, a UK-based flight training organisation, is continuing to accept applications for the easyJet FlightCrew Futures Program as of October 2026, according to its official recruitment website. The self-funded pathway combines UK CAA Integrated ATPL training with an Airbus A320 Type Rating and provides successful candidates with the opportunity to secure a conditional employment offer from easyJet before commencing training.
- The program is priced at GBP 129,000 (approximately US$172,100), including the Airbus A320 Type Rating and self-catered accommodation throughout training. The integrated training course takes approximately 18 months to complete.
- Skyborne states that applications are accepted year-round, with individual training cohorts limited to a maximum of 20 cadets. Prospective applicants must first register their interest through Skyborne's website to receive an application link.
- The selection process includes online psychometric, numerical and aptitude assessments using the AON assessment platform, followed by group exercises and a competency-based interview with easyJet's recruitment team. Skyborne does not charge an application assessment fee.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old when training begins, have unrestricted rights to live and work in the UK, meet minimum GCSE or equivalent educational requirements and obtain UK CAA Class 1 and FAA Class 3 medical certificates before commencing training. Previous flying experience is not required.
- AFM previously reported that Skyborne was appointed as an official easyJet Integrated ATPL training partner in April 2026 under a five-year agreement to train 500 pilots.
- Training is divided into five phases: 28 weeks of theoretical knowledge instruction at Gloucestershire or Bournemouth Airport; 26 weeks of single-engine flight training, including Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) instruction, at Vero Beach, Florida; 9.5 weeks of multi-engine Instrument Rating (IR) training in the UK; 0.5 weeks of Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT); and three weeks of Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS MCC) training. The APS MCC phase includes 40 hours of multi-crew instruction using Airbus A320 or Boeing 737 MAX simulation equipment, followed by the airline type-rating phase for eligible trainees.
