Greece – Kavala-based flight training organisation Egnatia Aviation has commenced training for the latest batch of 16 AEGEAN Airlines cadet pilots under the Airline Pilot Integrated Program, with the cohort officially beginning their journey in March 2026.
- The intake marks a continuation of the long-standing training partnership between Egnatia Aviation and Greece's flag carrier AEGEAN Airlines. In November 2025, AEGEAN announced up to 40 pilot scholarships for 2026, with similar intakes planned for 2027 and 2028 — totalling up to 120 scholarship recipients over three years. Training is delivered by Egnatia Aviation at Kavala, with a programm duration of 18 to 20 months covering theoretical instruction, flight training, and simulator sessions.
- Egnatia Aviation reaffirmed its training contract with Aegean Airlines in 2025 as part of what the organisation described as a year of significant strategic and operational achievement. The academy also renewed its training contract with Iraqi Airways during the same period.
- In 2025, Egnatia Aviation recorded its largest annual intake on record, welcoming 192 new cadets from 47 nationalities — comprising 114 cadets across six Integrated ATPL batches and 78 modular trainees. Cadet intake rose 18% year-on-year, with a corresponding 21% increase in total training hours delivered.
- In early 2026, Egnatia Aviation was selected by Boeing to contribute to the development of its Area 100 Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) training resources, and the organisation formally launched Egnatia Group, unifying its training, airworthiness, and aerodrome operations under a single strategic brand.
- Established in 2006, the academy has graduated over 2,700 pilots from more than 61 nationalities, maintaining a 95.7% employment rate within one year of graduation. Egnatia holds accreditations from EASA and from the UAE GCAA.
