Egyptian Airline Names New CEO in 2025 to Lead Next Expansion Phase

Egypt – Air Cairo has announced the appointment of Hussein Sherif as its new Chairman & CEO, succeeding Capt. Ahmed Shanan. The leadership change marks a renewed phase of strategic development for the Egypt-based hybrid airline as it continues its network, fleet and operational growth.

• Sherif brings over 35 years of aviation experience and is closely linked to Air Cairo’s previous major growth cycle, during which the airline expanded its fleet, improved operational performance and strengthened its market position.
• The airline acknowledged Capt. Shanan’s contributions during his tenure and stated that Sherif’s return will support its ongoing focus on sustainable development and competitive expansion within Egypt and key regional markets.
