France – French training aircraft manufacturer Elixir Aircraft has announced the delivery of two 4th generation Elixir aircraft to flight training organisation Aéropyrénées, facilitated by Fly Tomorrow. The aircraft are intended to support the school's fleet renewal.
The fourth-generation Elixir is a two-seat training aircraft incorporating the manufacturer's Carbon OneShot composite manufacturing technology, derived from processes used in competitive sailing. Its simplified airframe consists of nine main structural components, including a full-span wing manufactured without conventional ribs, spars or riveted assemblies.
According to Elixir Aircraft, this design is intended to reduce maintenance requirements and aircraft operating costs. The standard 100 hp variant uses a Rotax 912iS engine, with manufacturer-reported fuel consumption of approximately 10–15 litres per hour, depending on operating conditions.
Training-oriented equipment includes available Garmin glass-cockpit avionics, an integrated airframe parachute, a crash-resistant fuel tank and oleo-pneumatic landing gear.
The aircraft received EASA CS-23 certification in 2020 and FAA Part 23 certification in July 2025.
