USA – GE Aerospace, a global leader in aerospace propulsion and systems, has announced a USD 30 million investment through its philanthropic arm, the GE Aerospace Foundation, to launch a multi-year advanced manufacturing workforce training initiative across the United States.
- The $30 million workforce initiative aims to train 10,000 skilled manufacturing workers starting in 2026.
- Funding will support community-based programs by expanding capacity, acquiring training equipment, hiring instructors, and reducing financial barriers for students.
- The program was unveiled during a workforce event at GE Aerospace’s Customer Technical Education Center in Cincinnati, which trains over 4,000 individuals annually.
- Initial 2025 donations totaling $2.5 million target four institutions:
- $250,000 to Cincinnati State for two new AMT instructors (program expansion from 185 to 350 students).
- $250,000 to Tarrant County Community College (TX) for aviation maintenance scholarships and tools.
- $125,000 to Vaughn College (NY) for training equipment and faculty expansion.
- $125,000 to University of the District of Columbia for new aviation maintenance equipment.
- This initiative builds on prior donations:
- $1 million to Massachusetts’ AMTEP program in February 2025 (600 participants, 83% job placement).
- $1 million to United Way of Greater Cincinnati in 2024 to launch the Future of Manufacturing Fund.
- The announcement was made by GE Aerospace Chairman and CEO H. Lawrence Culp, Jr., joined by Ohio Department of Higher Education Chancellor Mike Duffey and Delta Air Lines EVP Alain Bellemare.
