Epic Flight Academy Activates New FAA Part 141 Campus in Connecticut with Grand Opening in October 2026

Connecticut, USA – Epic Flight Academy has activated its new flight training campus at Danbury Municipal Airport (DXR), with its current website confirming FAA Part 141 training is now available at the Connecticut location. The academy describes Danbury as its newest campus and plans to hold a formal grand-opening event in October 2026.

• The Danbury campus currently offers two training formats:
  • Full-time flight training, scheduled five days per week with up to two activities per day.
  • Part-time flight training, with Epic recommending students schedule at least three to four training sessions per week to maintain proficiency.
• Epic’s updated Danbury page states that approved students can begin training immediately, confirming the location has progressed beyond the development stage reported earlier in 2026. The campus operates from 81 Kenosia Avenue at Danbury Municipal Airport, with Colby Dahl listed as Site Manager.
• Flight training at Danbury uses factory-new Cessna 172 Skyhawks equipped with Garmin G1000 glass cockpits. The campus also uses a FRASCA RTD Cessna 172 training device for simulator-supported instruction.
• AFM previously reported in January 2026 that Epic planned to establish its first Connecticut flight training campus at Danbury Municipal Airport, initially targeting an opening around June or July. At that stage, the project called for approximately 2,000 sq. ft. of instructional and office space, around 10 employees and an initial intake of approximately 30 student pilots. The latest update confirms that flight-training activity is now available at the site.
• Epic has continued adding training capacity across its wider network during 2026. AFM reported in September that the academy acquired two Tecnam P2006T aircraft for multi-engine instruction, while its fleet had already exceeded 70 aircraft by July 2026.
