Etihad Seeking Candidates for Director of Pilot Training Role in 2026

United Arab Emirates – Etihad Airways, the Abu Dhabi-based national carrier, is seeking to recruit a Director of Pilot Training to provide leadership and strategic oversight of the airline's pilot training ecosystem from its Abu Dhabi headquarters.

  • The Director of Pilot Training will hold strategic ownership of the airline's pilot training strategy, aligning pilot capability development with flight operations, safety governance, regulatory requirements, and long-term growth objectives under Etihad's Journey 2030 ambition to double its fleet and expand its network.
  • The role encompasses governance of all pilot training domains including training design, delivery, compliance, innovation, and cadet progression, with accountability for ensuring training systems are scalable to support fleet expansion and increased training throughput.
  • Key responsibilities include overseeing evidence-based, competency-driven training program design, sponsoring training innovation and new learning technologies, and managing cadet and pilot progression frameworks aligned to long-term workforce and succession planning.
  • The position requires:
    • Bachelor degree level education. Qualified Pilot.
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience within the airline (aviation) industry with quantifiable experience (minimum 5 years) within a senior operational management role that has led teams.
    • Preferred, Senior leadership experience in pilot training, flight operations, or safety‑critical aviation roles, with accountability for large‑scale, multi‑fleet training systems
