France & United Kingdom - French aircraft manufacturer Aura Aero is advancing its defense activities on two fronts, with a potential European military training contract for its Integral S trainer and its Enbata MALE drone both expected to reach key milestones before the end of 2026.

Speaking at the Aero Friedrichshafen show, CEO and co-founder Jérémy Caussade indicated that the anticipated EASA certification of the Integral S could unlock a significant military training contract later this year, confirmed to be defense-specific in application.
The Integral S is the tricycle-gear variant within Aura Aero's two-seat, aerobatically-capable trainer family. Its tailwheel-configured sibling, the Integral R, received EASA CS-23 certification in December 2024.
While the Integral family is also marketed to flying clubs and as an Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT)-capable airframe, the anticipated contract relates specifically to a defense application.
The projected timeline aligns with the UK Ministry of Defence's Project Telum, initiated in September 2025 to replace the Grob 115E (Tutor Mk1), which has served UK military training requirements since 1999.
UK officials plan to publish a formal tender in October, with initial documentation indicating a commitment to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
The UK MoD's Light Aircraft Flying Task (LAFT) is currently delivered by Babcock International, which owns, manages, and maintains a fleet of 91 Grob Tutors. Babcock received an interim four-year contract extension in April 2026.
Project Telum's new aircraft contract is estimated to run from April 2030 to March 2045.
An all-electric variant of the Integral family — designated Integral E and available in either tricycle or tailwheel configuration — is targeting a 2027 entry into service.
Aura Aero's Enbata MALE drone is on track for its first flight by the end of 2026. The company is one of five manufacturers tasked in 2025 by France's defense procurement agency to develop a MALE drone.
The Enbata has been designed to serve both civilian and military applications.
