European Flag Carrier Takes Delivery of Airbus A350 Full Flight Simulator in 2025

October 8, 2025

Netherlands – KLM, the flag carrier of the Netherlands and part of the Air France‑KLM group, has officially commissioned the first Airbus A350 full‑flight simulator in the Netherlands, installed at its Schiphol‑East training facility ahead of the A350’s arrival in late 2026. This marks a key step in preparing its pilot workforce for seamless entry into service of the new fleet type.

  • The simulator was manufactured and acceptance‑tested by CAE in Montreal before being shipped to Europe in sections.
  • KLM expects the first cohort of A350 pilots to commence training soon, using the simulator’s realistic environment to master new systems and procedures.
  • In parallel, KLM is building a new training centre called “The Link” at Schiphol-East, which will house five additional simulators (including one A350 and four A321neo devices) and support both KLM and Transavia pilots. The facility is slated for completion in mid‑2026. Learn more:
