Canary Islands – Canavia Aviation Academy, a flight training organisation based in the Canary Islands, has expanded its cooperation with European low-cost carrier Volotea through a new preferential hiring pathway for its alumni. The initiative is designed to streamline graduate entry into Volotea’s A320 recruitment program and offers structured training-to-hire progression from Canavia’s ATPL course directly to airline operations.
- A Volotea recruitment event is hosted at Canavia’s training centre at Maspalomas Airfield (El Berriel)
- The program targets Canavia alumni holding a valid EASA CPL, Class 1 medical, ME/IR rating, and having completed MCC or JOC training within the past 12 months
- Participation requires EU passport holders with minimum ICAO English Level 5
- The selection process includes:
- Two interviews (HR and technical)
- Three assessments (two psychometric, one technical)
- Simulator evaluation (35 minutes)
- Successful candidates are offered a permanent contract (9 months active / 3 months inactive)
- Base assignment is aligned with Volotea’s operational needs (Italy, France, or Greece)
- The A320 Type Rating course (including 6 weeks ground school, simulator training, base training, and line training of minimum 125 hours) must be financed by the candidate
- The structured Operator Conversion Course (OCC) and initial line training are integrated as part of the onboarding package
