Netherlands – European Heli Center Netherlands has reached a construction milestone at its new ROTORBASE Europe training headquarters, currently under development at Lelystad Airport near Amsterdam, with the team celebrating the placement of a symbolic milestone column marking significant progress on the 2,077 m² purpose-built facility.

  • The project is being developed in cooperation with construction contractor Willy Naessens Nederland and is progressing on schedule, with ROTORBASE Europe set to serve as European Heli Center's new training headquarters.
  • The 2,077 m² facility will house ROTORBASE, a central hub for helicopter training in Europe, incorporating modern classrooms and briefing rooms, dedicated crew rest areas, simulator training facilities, operational support infrastructure, and on-site hospitality for pilots and crews.
  • The facility will host VertiSIM, European Heli Center's advanced simulator training division, which will operate a Level D Full Flight Simulator for the Airbus H135 and H145 helicopters developed in partnership with REISER Simulation and Training.
  • Strategically located at Lelystad Airport, ROTORBASE will offer direct connectivity to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, providing international crews and operators with accessible training access in Europe.
  • Once operational, ROTORBASE and VertiSIM are positioned to become one of the most advanced helicopter training environments in Europe, supporting both civil and governmental operators with customised training programmes.
