Norway – The U.S. Department of State has approved a possible USD 2.3 billion Foreign Military Sale to Norway for 21 Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk multirole helicopters, plus mission systems, weapons, training, and sustainment, announced on 21 August 2026 under Congressional Notification Transmittal 26-83.

The proposed sale covers 21 UH-60M Black Hawk multirole helicopters, 46 T700-GE-701D engines, 25 AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems, 25 Common Infrared Countermeasure systems, 25 AN/APR-39E(V)2 radar warning receivers, 50 EAGLE-M+429 embedded GPS/inertial navigation systems, 100 AN/ARC-231A radios, and 18 M240H machine guns.
Additional equipment includes laser warning systems, ballistic armor, MX-10D electro-optical/infrared sensors, Link 16, degraded-visual-environment equipment, rescue hoists, fast-rope systems, external fuel tanks, medical evacuation equipment, snow skis, winterisation equipment, engine inlet barrier filters, additional cabin heating, and auxiliary fuel systems.
Lockheed Martin's Sikorsky business in Stratford, Connecticut is identified as the principal contractor.
Norway's Bardufoss is described as the largest military garrison in northern Norway and, together with Setermoen and Skjold, forms a Norwegian military power centre in the north.
The Black Hawk fleet would replace and upgrade Norway's Bell 412 fleet currently based at Bardufoss and Rygge.
