European Training Aircraft Manufacturer Delivers Next-Generation Multi-Engine Aircraft to Spanish ATO in October 2025

October 21, 2025

Spain – Italian aircraft manufacturer Tecnam has delivered a new-generation Tecnam P2006T NG to Canavia Flight Training, a Spanish Approved Training Organization (ATO) based in the Canary Islands. This delivery marks Canavia’s third P2006T and the first NG variant to be introduced in the Canary Islands, further solidifying Tecnam’s presence in Europe’s pilot training market.

  • The newly delivered P2006T NG introduces enhanced avionics (Garmin G1000 NXi), improved comfort, and is powered by twin Rotax 912 iSc3 engines.

  • With the addition, Canavia now operates a total of ten Tecnam aircraft, representing the majority of its 13-strong fleet used primarily for ATPL training.

  • The ferry flight from Tecnam’s facility in Capua, Italy, was carried out by Tecnam’s Spanish dealer Álvaro Lapetra and Canavia pilot Miguel Marafini.

  • Canavia plans to further expand its fleet with the acquisition of a Tecnam P2010 single-engine aircraft in the coming days.

  • Canavia trains over 160 active students, leveraging favourable year-round weather and an exclusive aerodrome well-connected to eight international airports in the region.

  • The P2006T NG continues to gain favour among flight schools globally due to its operational cost-efficiency and alignment with multi-engine pilot training demands.
