South Africa – Excellentia Airline Academy (EAA), the fast-growing flight training group in South Africa, will receive another 10 new Sling NGT training aircraft from South African manufacturer Sling Aircraft, with production currently underway at the manufacturer's facility at Tedderfield Airpark near Johannesburg.

  • The 10 Sling NGTs are in various stages of production on Sling Aircraft's assembly line at Tedderfield and will be added to Excellentia Airline Academy's growing training fleet upon completion.
  • EAA currently operates a fleet of nearly 30 aircraft — including Cessna 172s, Piper Archers, Piper Seneca IIIs, Diamond DA20-C1s, and Diamond DA42 Twinstars — and has been adding new Sling NGT aircraft on a monthly basis, with plans to scale the fleet to over 100 aircraft within 18 months and 200 within three years.
  • The Sling NGT is a two-seat, low-wing training aircraft powered by a 100hp Rotax engine, featuring a spacious wide-view cockpit and a full suite of modern Garmin avionics. The NGT is designed and manufactured by Sling Aircraft at its Tedderfield headquarters.
  • EAA is headquartered at Grand Central Airport in Johannesburg and also operates from Lanseria International Airport following its 2025 acquisition of both Aeronav Academy and Skyhawk Aviation — two long-established South African flight training schools now consolidated under the EAA umbrella.
