Czech Republic – Czech EASA-approved flight training organisation F AIR has welcomed newly enrolled students from the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) Professional Pilot program to its training base at Benešov Airport (LKBE) during October 2026. The Open Days introduced students to the academy's flight training facilities, aircraft and instructors as part of their transition from university education to practical pilot training.

  • CTU's three-year Professional Pilot bachelor's degree combines ATPL(A) theoretical instruction with approximately 200 hours of practical flight training at approved flight schools, including F AIR. Graduates who complete the required training and examinations obtain a Commercial Pilot Licence with multi-engine and instrument ratings, commonly referred to as a frozen ATPL.
  • During the October Open Days, students toured F AIR's facilities, examined the school's training aircraft and met instructors and operational personnel. Introductory flights were also offered to provide initial exposure to aircraft operations.
  • The university's training structure allows students to select their practical flight training provider during the first semester, with flying instruction beginning after the initial theoretical preparation. The orientation visits therefore provide an opportunity to evaluate training facilities before progressing into the flying phase.
  • The training pathway is delivered through CTU's Faculty of Transportation Sciences, which holds ATO approval CZ/ATO-010 for ATPL(A) theoretical instruction, while F AIR operates under CZ/ATO-001. Practical training progresses from initial aircraft handling to night flying, simulator instruction, instrument flying and multi-engine operations during the three-year course.
