FAA Seeks Stakeholder Input on Flight Training Modernization in Ongoing 2025 Tour – June Session at Bridgewater State University

May 19, 2025

USA– The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) continues its yearlong public engagement campaign aimed at overhauling the long-standing Part 141 regulations governing professional flight training schools. The next session in the FAA’s listening tour will be held June 10–11, 2025, at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts.

The initiative began in 2024 to gather stakeholder input on modernizing FAA Part 141, which has remained largely unchanged for decades despite shifts in technology and training practices. The FAA acknowledges that many Part 141 requirements still trace back to Civil Air Regulations Part 50, introduced in the 1940s.Over 250 public comments have been submitted since the initial meeting in April 2025, with contributions from training providers, pilots, and community members. The National Flight Training Alliance (NFTA), representing a coalition of flight schools and industry stakeholders, is leading industry participation in the regulatory process. On April 30, Flight Schedule Pro CEO Nick Wegner was appointed to the NFTA board to represent the platform’s 1,400 school clients and 60,000 student users.NFTA CEO Lee Collins emphasized that the organization is aligning advocacy with operational data and frontline experience to influence a more inclusive, effective training ecosystem.In-person registration for the June session closes on May 27, while virtual participants may register up to the event day.Additional meetings, both in-person and virtual, are planned throughout the second half of 2025 in July, October, November, and December.
