Finnish Aviation Academy Takes Delivery of 3rd Tecnam P2010 TDI

Finland – The Finnish Aviation Academy (FINAA), a government-owned approved training organisation headquartered in Pori, Finland, has taken delivery of the third Tecnam P2010 TDI from a landmark 10-aircraft fleet modernisation contract awarded in 2025, with the ceremonial handover taking place at the 2026 AERO Friedrichshafen exhibition.

• The third P2010 TDI delivery follows the commencement of deliveries in March 2026, on schedule with the fleet replacement timeline. The 10-aircraft order replaces FINAA's legacy four-seat training fleet.
• FINAA is the largest approved training organisation in Finland, training 80 to 100 professional pilots annually with student intake determined each year based on airline pilot demand in Finland.
• The Tecnam P2010 TDI is powered by the Continental CD-170 diesel engine with an MT Propeller, equipped with Garmin avionics, and offers extended range and payload enabling comprehensive IFR training on a single-engine platform with reduced fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions compared to 100LL-fuelled alternatives.
• Tecnam states that flight schools operating its single- and twin-engine fleet can save up to 10 tonnes of CO₂ per student completing a Commercial Pilot Licence — a 60% reduction compared to a 100LL fleet across 155 flight hours including 30 twin-engine hours.
• The P2010 TDI was selected following a rigorous Finnish government public procurement process, underscoring the competitive evaluation behind the fleet decision.
