Philippines – First Aviation Academy (FAA) and SB Finance, in partnership with Security Bank, have established a Student Loan Assistance Program for qualified students undertaking professional pilot training at the Philippine flight school.

  • The Memorandum of Agreement was signed on August 27, 2026 at the MacroAsia Boardroom, with representatives from First Aviation Academy, parent company MacroAsia Corporation, SB Finance and Security Bank. The program is intended to provide qualified FAA students with access to financing specifically connected to their aviation education.
  • The financing initiative applies to a school offering professional pathways including Private Pilot License, Commercial Pilot License, Instrument Rating, Multi Engine Rating, flight instructor training and integrated cadet-style training. FAA states that its cadetship pathway normally takes approximately 18 to 20 months to complete.
  • First Aviation Academy is a joint venture between MacroAsia Corporation, which holds 51%, and PTC Holdings Corporation, which holds 49%.
  • FAA operates from Subic Bay International Airport and operates a training fleet of Cessna 172 aircraft, Tecnam P2010 and P2006T aircraft and Redbird training devices. The academy acquired nine Cessna 172s and a Redbird simulator from the former Philippine Airlines Aviation School in 2021.
