First NVIS (Night Vision Imaging System) Flight Training Device Now Operational at RotorSky
Netherlands – multiSIM BV, a flight simulation technology developer, has achieved a global milestone with the successful EASA qualification of the world’s first Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS)-capable Flight Training Device (FTD 1) powered entirely by virtual reality (VR). The simulator is now operational at RotorSky GmbH and marks a significant advancement in immersive pilot training.
- The NVIS-capable FTD 1 was developed in collaboration with RotorSky GmbH and JFJ GmbH
- It is the first EASA-qualified simulator to operate fully on multiSIM BV’s proprietary VR simulation environment, D-World.
- The training system supports both day and night operations using Night Vision Goggles (NVG), offering an immersive and realistic flight experience for NVG procedures.
- The qualification meets EASA standards for civilian and military flight training, reinforcing its operational relevance.
