United Kingdom – Cabin fire training equipment manufacturer Flame Aviation has completed Factory Acceptance testing for TUI Airways’ third V7000 Brigade fire trainer, which is destined for the airline’s East Midlands training center. A further fire trainer is planned for TUI’s London Gatwick training location in early 2027, extending practical cabin safety training equipment across two of the airline’s UK training centers.

  • TUI identifies East Midlands Airport as its principal UK flight and cabin crew training center, supported by satellite facilities at Gatwick, Manchester and Luton. Its practical training infrastructure at both East Midlands and Gatwick includes fire and smoke evacuation trainers, Boeing 757/767 cabin mock-ups and evacuation slide trainers.
  • TUI has previously stated that the majority of its UK cabin crew training takes place at East Midlands. In 2024, the airline used the center to support the training of 443 new cabin crew ahead of its summer operation.
  • AFM previously reported in July 2026 that Flame Aviation commissioned a V7000 Brigade VIEW cabin fire and smoke trainer at CrewSafety’s facility in Melbourne, Australia, another deployment from the same V7000 product family.
  • The V7000 Brigade is a single-cabin fire and smoke trainer measuring approximately 9.0 m × 2.4 m × 2.6 m and accommodating two to three trainees plus an instructor. It supports scenarios involving laptops, smartphones, tablets, ovens, seats, luggage compartments and lavatory waste bins, with functions including controlled fire, smoke, heat, glowing spots, short-circuit effects and smoke detection.
