Switzerland –AELO Swiss Academy has confirmed the arrival of four brand-new Tecnam P2008 aircraft at Locarno Airport (LSZL), marking a key delivery milestone in the academy’s ongoing fleet and infrastructure expansion program.
- The four Tecnam P2008 aircraft have arrived in Locarno directly from the factory, forming part of a previously announced order for five new P2008s.
- The P2008 deliveries will increase AELO’s total training fleet to 27 aircraft, supporting higher student intake while maintaining training quality and operational resilience.
- The Tecnam expansion complements AELO’s confirmed order for 12 new Diamond DA20 aircraft, with six additional options, reinforcing the academy’s focus on modern, single-engine ab initio training platforms.
- Diamond DA20 deliveries are scheduled to begin in April 2026, proceeding at a rate of two aircraft per month, with all aircraft to be based at Locarno Airport (LSZL).
- Fleet growth is aligned with AELO’s broader infrastructure investment, including a EUR 5 million campus development and the launch of a 2,000 square-metre training complex at Locarno Airport.
